Find Info Faster
Instead of flipping through 11 volumes to fix a machine, IETMs let you search and access what you need in seconds.
Always Up to Date
Upgrades to equipment happen often. IETMs can be updated instantly, while paper manuals require manual corrections and often go outdated.
Save Printing Cost
No need for expensive printing, shipping, or binding. IETMs are cost-effective and eco-friendly
Benefits of IETM
Traditional Manuals Are Outdated
Paper manuals are bulky, heavy, and hard to manage—especially in mobile or space-limited settings like ships or field units.
Lighter Loads, Better Mobility
Ships often carry tons of paper just for manuals. Switching to digital reduces weight and frees up valuable space.
Space-Saving Solution
Paper takes up too much room. For example, one ship used up over 1,000 cubic feet just for storing manuals. IETMs free that space instantly.

What is an IETM?
Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) is a standalone / LAN based application required primarily by the defence sector to store, maintain, and access product technical literature. The first usage of IETM’s dates back to 1970’s used by the US defence forces to standardize technical documentation for weapon systems.
IETMs present data in a screen format rather than a paper-based format. The aim is to access critical operation and maintenance procedures in an interactive format. Further, all relevant data such as tools, equipment, engineering drawings, and parts catalogue, required to perform these operations must be accessible on one single screen.
ILXS is an Indian organisation dedicated to development of IETMs for defence and commercial industries. IETM developed by ILXS is an in-house, tailor-made, and cost-effective solution, that serves the unique requirements of individual clients.
